EsG17 Comptosopera opocaria

Geometridae, Ennominae Wingspan: 49mm.

A very variable species in colour, possibly only distributed in South-western Europe. Only a small number (4) came to the trap at this site, one recorded by Madeline, and three others on our first night's trap. They were sufficiently varied to log them as different species at first, until the basic wing pattern was noted. The two other pictures here in this album are other colour variations.
