Der Name ist auf die Kronprinzessin Victoria - einer Tochter der Königin Victoria - zurückzuführen.
König Wilhelm I. von Preussen (später Kaiser Wilhelm I.) benannte nach einem Spaziergang (1865) diesen Aussichtspunkt nach seiner Schwiegertochter.

Hatte mir bei der Planung den Stellplatz Hagen ausgesucht,
und das war goldrichtig, denn der Weg von dort zu den
Klippen war nicht allzu weit!
