Die St.-Marien-Kirche ist eine dreischiffige Kirche mit Querhaus - sie wurde im Jahr 1298 erstmals erwähnt. Das evangelische Gotteshaus gilt als ein Meisterwerk der Spätgotik im mitteleuropäischen Raum. Vom Turm (104m hoch) bietet sich ein Blick über Stralsund und die Umgebung - bis zur Insel Rügen.
