Hi Rachel. Yes they are chalk. The cliffs between here and Eastbourne, to the east, are at the end of the South Downs, which are now a National Park.
Wild Carrot looks like Cow Parsley, but smaller, when in flower, but the seed heads are quite exotic before they dry out. I made a photo of one into a card, when I was asked to make some for an open day in a restored walled garden. www.ipernity.com/doc/364457/26162335
Thanks for your visit - all the best.

Thanks, Jaap. It is a largely unspoilt beach. To get to it you have to walk for over twenty minutes from the nearest road.

Thanks, funtor. It is one of my favorites too. You can only get to this beach by walking 20-25 minutes from the main road. The path at the beach end is grass, chalk and flint. So it rarely gets crowds and often is totally deserted. However Japanese tourists seem to have it as a compulsory part of their UK itinerary!

Thanks, Wilm. It is a lovely part of the South Coast of England. We are lucky to live about 3km from here.

This is another fairly quiet beach, like Winchelsea Beach, especially out of the summer season, as you can only get there on foot, after twenty minutes or so walk, from the coast road.
I have clicked the 'contact' button. You can see that I will photograph almost anything apart from people* and pets - *family excepted. I have tried to sort things into sensible albums and folders. So you won't need to dodge tractors or peer through stained glass windows if they don't appeal.
