A More Nuanced Shade of Grey

Jean-luc Drouin commented on the earlier version of this picture that he would have preferred to see it in a more nuanced shade of grey; the earlier edit had too much contrast for his taste.
I think he is probably right. The photograph was not very good to begin with, and I'm not sure why I attempted an edit in B&W. I guess I simply liked the composition and overlooked the technical deficiencies.

Oui, il y a plus de détails dans les visages et vêtements. Moi je commence à traiter mes photos et je reconnais que ce n'est pas toujours facile de maîtriser un logiciel de post-traitement. Il faut beaucoup de pratique.

Thanks, Marta. It is helpful to have such comments. Post-processing is a difficult area to master. Of course, it helps enormously if you take a decent picture to start with, and this image, although charming, is technically mediocre.
