Graffiti on the side of Ashton Mill. It is repeated on a nearby bridge.
It was photographed with a Chinon 55mm f/1.4 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera.

Pics-UM, Steve Bucknell have particularly liked this photo

I like the way this kind of graffiti seems to float on the surface of walls, brick and stone. Graffiti tag names I find really flat and dull, even when they are obviously very well done. This quick, cursive message I like. A good message. It’s as simple as that.

All art should be encouraged, I think you will agree. The choice of canvas can be controversial, demonstrating a shortage of exhibition space. Some artists feel excluded from the art world. The internet has been useful in this regard.

Just reflecting on the choice of canvas: over the last thirty or forty years the human body has become a favoured canvas for art, with the advantage of mobility and constant exhibition but the disadvantage of the person who is the canvas not easily being also the artist. And tattoo art can be execrable, and I wonder if it ought to be encouraged because of lamentable quality control. On the positive side, tattoo art is one of the most temporary forms due to human degeneration.
