Good dilapidation can be a moving thing. On the Sheffield Supertram I sat across from a young man deeply engrossed in the most delapidated paperback I have ever seen: covers faded to nothing, pages tanned brown. It was Papillon by Henri Charrière. I regreted not asking for an iPhone snap of the book. One of those pictures that got away !
