Brief Encounter

This is a selective enlargement from a print of a photograph I took in Lyme Regis in the summer of 2014 with the girl's consent. The original shows more of the seaside resort, though with diminished depth-of-field. I used a 55mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor lens to make the new picture. I like the way the quality falls away as the image becomes further removed from the original picture I made that day. Paradoxically it seems to reveal more of the character of the subject.
