I like the contrast of the bright figure framed in the dark doorway with the washed-out greys in the window. What was it you said about light being the essence of photography? I've lost the words you used, but I wish I could have them back.

It is a bit contrasty (is that a word?) and I lifted the shadows a bit with software. What I liked about it was the atmosphere of calm and the shaft of sunlight; and I was taken by the typewriter style of the shop name, simple enough in itself. Knitting wool is wholesome and comforting, I think - notwithstanding that much of the yarn has no acquaintance with a sheep's back. As for the light: I made a reference to that in an article I posted on this site. On re-reading it I find it rather didactic and immodest. I am glad of your comment and several amusing remarks elsewhere: thank you for your interest and wit.
