The Black Dog

It's dark. You are alone. The moonlight switches on and off as clouds scud overhead. Wild animals and birds can be heard moving around. A twig snaps; a sound like a man coughing follows. The tree lined road becomes darker. You see shadows. Drips of water shock you as they land on the back of your neck. Something dark and indeterminate moves across your path ahead. The scene is set. You are ready to see anything your febrile imagination can conjure up.
