Sainte Menehould - Notre-Dame-du-Château

The oldest foundations of Sainte-Menehould are on a butte, that got fortified in the 11th century. The town that developed on the foothills over the centuries burned down completely in 1719.

Notre-Dame-du-Château, built in the 13th century on the butte, overlooks the (rebuilt) town. It was altered and enlarged in the 15th and 18th centuries and is surrounded by the old graveyard.
