Looking in and out

Looking in and out
The Bothy Calke Abbey, the upper floor would have been a ripening room and possibly a dormitory for unmarried gardeners. The ground floor had the Head Gardeners office, a dining area and tool store

, Marie-claire Gallet have particularly liked this photo

Thank you Marie-claire the walled garden was huge it produced everything the big house and estate needed, it is unlike any other stately house when the National Trust took over it was a dump so they decided not to restore it but stabilise it, when you go into the house there is paint and paper peeling off the walls, rooms full of junk hundreds of stuffed birds and animals. Like many of the big houses it went into decline after WW1 everything changed then.
