With the weather it was very peaceful only a few hardy souls !! the estate is large so it is always possible to get a peaceful area the average visitor doesn't move far from the car park, I was recently talking to one of the rangers at Lyme Park about this he said they had done surveys on this the distance was 300 yards the estate covers 1300 acres !!!

I hadn't thought about it but yes it is similar to Charlecote, two separate people told me of a Kingfisher at Belton but I didn't see it

Although it looks natural it probably isn't most of the old large estates were landscaped
