O&S[SF] - VR wall post box

Wall mounted post box at "The George", Chollerford.

From the VR it dates from pre-1902 ... so is an antique and still in daily use.
Some people "walking the wall" [Hadrian's Wall Trail" drop off progress report post-cards in it, in addition to their phones !

Something that is not uncommon in rural areas, to be honest.

Additionally, The George is located at a road junction [and at one end of a bridge over the River North Tyne].
