WPD[21] / gdn - Monbretia
Monbretia, very colourful but somewhat invasive. Also known as Crocosima or Tritonia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crocosmia
One of several images captured for "World Photography Day" on 19th August 2021. I had very cloudy and dull weather, with the trip out I had intended postponed for several days as my car was in dry dock.
I chose this image because the relative brightness of the colour and the detail in the primary flower, with a background that didn't seem to be too dominant.

My monbretia are a welcome splash of colour at the moment.
For control, I either mow over them, or pull them up and transplant.
I hardly ever use weed-killer or pesticides. In fact, apart from treating a couple of persistent tap roots in the drive and on a gravel path about three years ago, I haven't used any for two decades or more.
So happy you liked the club event. It's been a lot of work, but happy work for me. We had considered it last year, set up the group in prep, and then didn't consider it again until I just decided to go for it. Amazingly so many joined in such a short amount of notice.
There are lots of ways one can handle a celebration of the day. I personally like this one, but we can discuss different options in the discussions of the group.
.........wünsche noch einen schönen Tag,ganz liebe Grüße Güni:))
They are definitely a strong colour and brighten up even a dull day.
