Oh my goodness!!! What a stunner!!! You saw in the wild? I am so impressed. We've had one rattlesnake on the property that I was aware of but otherwise our species are non-venomous. I adore snakes actually, and you may know that we have one! I rescued a California Mountain King Snake one cold November...a tiny hatchling that, from what I knew, couldn't possibly survive the long winter and spring without food and a proper place to brumate (hibernate). So we took it in, and "Snakey McSnakerton" is now over 4 feet long, drop-dead gorgeous, and lives in a huge tank where he dines on a succession of mice and leads a happy life. (if you'd like to see him, click on the picture and roll your mouse over the insets...they are mostly baby pictures; you can read about him too if interested. :D www.ipernity.com/doc/290645/32078997 )
