Metairie Louisiana USA August 1977
I bought this 1973 MG B Roadster from a Mr Swindell of Prattville Alabama... I hadn't been there long but thought it might be ideal for the southern Louisiana weather. Yes & no. Mainly no.

New Orleans is semi-tropical so hot & humid for most of the time and raining a lot of the time. Being caught on the freeway with the roof down in torrential rain is not a great experience. Nevertheless the MG was a fun car to drive.

This shot was taken at Lakeside shopping centre off Veteran's Boulevard I believe. The MG is in the company of many 1970s classic American motors none of which I can identify

Older British carsused to have very unique colours, very different from the rest of the world. Contrastly, nowadays majority of cars in the UK are Black, White, Silver and Grey. Rarely red, while very same red. Sometimes blue.

Yes this distinctive orange was unusual at the time. Given that there are virtually no British cars built in the UK any more - just foreign-owned makes - the colours are now just like the rest of the world's. Having said that I have two cars both red!

There is one larger British company, I guess - Aston Martin... but you are right - the globalisation bring mass trands and tastes, where difference is something you have to pay extra.

Im not sure, if the analogue colours make it, or I am color blind - but I see rather light brown than orange.
