2014 United States National Figure Skating Championships - Junior Pairs Short Program - Kaitlin Budd and Nikita Cheban doing a double twist lift
"A twist lift is a pairs figure skating hand-to-waist lift. The man lifts the lady in the air, where she performs one or more rotations in a laid-out position. He catches her in the air and lets her down onto one foot."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twist_lifts
Normally, I like to freeze the action in skating. I set the aperture and try to pick a fast enough ISO so that the shutter speed will create a sharp image. In this shot, the speed was not fast enough, but the resulting blur and the snow scraped up from the man's skate seemed interesting to me. I'm not thrilled about the background advertising. Although it shows the panning blur, it is distracting. What do you think?
