Door de ruit - Through a pane

The Hallen van Stork (or: the Van Gendt Hallen) were production halls, originally made in the period 1897-1920. These halls are about the last large scale buildings of the industrial period in Amsterdam. On this place locomotives were built and also motors for ships. In the 1990s these activities were phased out and the building became derelict. In the mean time this building is used for different activities and different companies until a definitive decision has been taken about the future. The building is a listed building as it is on the national monuments list.
The panes are still in their original grooves and the windows are boarded up from the inside.
