July Grey
The 'marine layer' coming off the Pacific Ocean is our natural air-conditioner (free of charge) when the summer heat kicks in. Tourists shake their heads in disbelief at July temperatures topping out at 57°F/14°C which, by the way, is typical for San Francisco in the summer. Even more surprising is that 15 miles/24 kilometers inland it is a cloudless and sunny 90°F/32°C.
