Built to survive even a devastating burn, this ancient coastal redwood slowly heals itself from a fire that swept through this grove 100 years ago.

This image was taken with a Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a Super-Multi-Coated-Takumar/6X7 1:3.5/55mm lens using Kodak Portra 400 film, scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
