Many do see the clouds as menacing. I see a blanket of comfort. And yes, we have been without rain or clouds for around 60 days until just recently. Very unusual for us here in the Pacific Northwestern United States. I hope you get the rain you need.

Wonderful (both the photo, but, more importantly, that you got your smoke-free sky back).

Oh yes! It is so nice to breath rain cleaned air.

The fire is now 46% contained (it was only 11% contained before the rains came). 48,000 acres of burn. Forests burn naturally and over time will recover, (a really long time in this case) but when one burns due to humans, it hurts.

Thanks so much. Many do see it as gloomy, but I see it as comfort like a blanket. Maybe because I grew up with the clouds here and gentle weather.

Thanks you kindly. (There were dramatic events going on in the location I took this photo from, so it was very appropriate.)

Glad you like them. I've missed clouds all summer (unusual around here to not have any clouds). Thanks!

They look quite threatening but make a wonderful image, I hope you have a nice week Laura

raingirl club has replied to Peter Castell club
Ah, not actually so threatening, unless you melt in the rain! We often get layers of clouds like this that bring nothing but an even soft rain. Glad you like the photo. Thanks for visiting me, Peter. Hope your week is treating you well.

Big sky, interesting bridge, being a mini version of those big bridges one sees nowadays. Looks good though. We,ve had skies like this for the last six months now with the only variation of either heavy rains or snows. Just now and again do we have lighter or even clear skies over here in Manchester UK. Cheers, Herb

the white bridge here is bigger than it looks. it is the largest no-car bridge (just light rail, bus, bike and pedestrian) in the United States.
Still not as big as the ones you are thinking of but not really mini. it's the 12th bridge over our river, the Willamette, in the city of Portland. It opened in 2015. Another of our 12 brideges was replaced and re-opened 2016.

we have weather very much like yours here in Portland, Oregon!
