I like to call these shots "Tree art" it's amazing how much detail and texture there is to be found. I have been photographing the same tree stump for 8 years now at the same time of year and the same position. I will stop at 10 years and make a collage up from the shots.

A beautifully crisp shot, though as you note the subject matter is looking a little tired.
