Clayfolk Art Show!! This is Bruce Finch: Rusty-Colored Mug
This is Day 4 of my Clayfolk Art Show exhibit! I started with Lorene Senesac, Rhonda Hampton and Steve Kirkland.
Tonight's featured artist is Bruce Finch, whose pottery totally blew my mind! This incredibly talented and charismatic fellow began his artistry back in 1964! Bruce is a very interesting man, and I found myself entranced in discussion with him about how he felt about art and how creativity can be destroyed when one decides to make a living with something so near and dear to the heart. Bruce has kept a studio with him wherever he's gone in his life, whether or not he's trying to make a living with his pottery, or if he's just creating for the sheer passion of it in his life.
There are 12 pictures in Bruce's set, and you will be rewarded by looking at all of them. He's a gifted artist, though he takes no credit for what the fire does to create the glazing colors and textures in his work. I would beg to differ...personally, I think he's a master at what he does! I hope you enjoy the show!!!
If you would like to contact Bruce Finch he can be reached by email: bfinchpottery@hughes.net
