71/365: "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning, Oh What A Beautiful Day, I Have a Beautiful Feeling, Everything's Going My Way." ~ Oklahoma
Come on now, sing it with me!! :D
Oh, What A Beautiful Morning, from Oklahoma!
There's a bright golden haze on the meadow,
There's a bright golden haze on the meadow,
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye,
An' it looks like its climbin' clear up to the sky.
Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a beautiful feeling,
Everything's going my way.
All the cattle are standing like statues,
All the cattel are standing like statues,
They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by.
But a little brown mav'rick is winking her eye.
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
The breeze is so busy it don't miss a tree,
And an ol' Weepin' Willer is laughin' at me.
It really was so lovely today, and when I looked to see how the daffodils were coming along, one of them was glowing in the morning light, showing me the flower that will emerge in the next week or so! How exciting! And, as you can see, there are an army of others which will explode into bloom soon after! HOORAY for Spring!
Oklahoma! is a 1955 musical film based on the 1943 musical play Oklahoma!, written by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II and starring Gordon MacRae, Shirley Jones (in her film debut), Rod Steiger, Charlotte Greenwood, Gloria Grahame, Gene Nelson, James Whitmore and Eddie Albert. The production was the only musical directed by Fred Zinnemann.[2] Oklahoma! was the first feature film photographed in the Todd-AO 70 mm widescreen process. Wkipedia: Oklahoma!
