The old windmill tower
Which the fellow who works our land says we shouldn't remove, because it maintains a claim on the water! The arcane ins and outs of water law in the arid and semiarid US--
The crop in the foreground is soybeans, among the stalks of the previous year's milo. He (like most people now in this part of Kansas) practices no-till farming, which preserves the topsoil and makes a repeat of the Dust Bowl less likely. Plowing as Politically Incorrect--who'd a thunk it? ;) Smith Center, Kansas, USA.
