Marie Bengraff by Pesme
Marie Bengraff ( ? – 1867); French soprano.
In 1848 she made her debut at the Grand-Opéra in Paris where she performed roles like Inez in Donizetti’s “La Favorita”, Alice in Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory” and Ninetta in Verdi’s “Les Vêpres Siciliennes”. In 1858 she created the role of “Une Dame” at the première of Halévy’s “La Magicienne”. She was married to Eugène-François Vauthrot, chorusmaster of the Grand Opéra Paris. She died in 1867 after a long and painful disease.

Mademoiselle Bengraff, ancienne artiste de l'Opéra, est morte hier soir.
Mademoiselle Bengraff avait épousé M. Vauthrot, chef du chant à ce théâtre et
Professeur au Conservatoir.
Les obséques de madame Vauthrot auront lieu demain lundi, à dix heures,
en l'église Notre-dame-de-Lorette.
