I've not been around much lately but I will try to catch up a bit in the coming days! I hope everyone is well.
ps: there's a larger version in the note.
Still experimenting, testing, trying.
Uncropped. I was squatting and shooting up. They were almost stepping on me! This is easily my favourite shot of the day. I liked the warm colours here although I did take them down a notch.
This was a difficult shoot: declining light and a very hazy sky, but the Caspian Tern is not a common bird here and it's a first and a lifer, so I shot him anyway. :)
I put one other shot in a note.
Edit: I just added a note with a Common Tern to show the difference.

Western Marsh-harrier / Bruine Kiekendief / Busard…
A first and a lifer. Yay!! :)
As I said in the brief note: I have been very busy. But, I have also been shooting a lot and processing some and uploaded here, but kept it private because I had no time to comment or to respond to comments. Hopefully I can catch up some. Hiya everybody!!! :)
Four Tern shots today. The other three are also included in this one in three notes. All taken on different occasions, at different times and with different light.
Common Tern / Visdief / Sterne pierregarin (Sterna…
Fishing. A bit of an unfortunate angle to the sun (hence the white sky), but I thought it would work as a high key image. I just like how the red of the bill and legs stands out this way.
Common Tern / Visdief / Sterne pierregarin (Sterna…
As I was looking at my Swallow shots I suddenly saw this one. A Common Swift! I hadn't seen that when I shot it. I'm very pleased with this because not only is it a first, it is also a lifer! So although it isn't the best of shots in terms of IQ (a fairly big crop), I'm sharing anyway. :)
Look: no feet!!!
Barn Swallow / Boerenzwaluw / Hirondelle rustique…
The same Barn Swallow in three consecutive shots, taken well within a two second time frame. I thought it cool to make a collage like this to show how fast and agile these birds are.
I've included a note with another Barn Swallow on his own.
Common Tern / Visdief / Sterne pierregarin (Sterna…
I went to the countryside north of Amsterdam and found a colony of Common Terns breeding and fishing. I have tons of images and will upload some more in the coming days.
Uncropped.
