I've had a pair of Levis for over twenty years that are now gaping at the knees and threatening to separate altogether due to the surrounding denim being so worn and thin. You can't replicate that degeneration convincingly by a few slits with a blade and a rub with emery cloth in the factory workshop. Fashion choices are strange and customers are easily manipulated.
