BLM Collage

I have to agree that the protests must continue, but at what cost to the spread of the coronavirus. Social distancing seems to have been entirely ignored, not only in the USA but also in the UK and elsewhere.

Amelia, a study was just released last night based on the protests in NYC. These protests contributed to no spikes in COVID-19 cases since the overwhelming majority of participants wore protective face coverings. Having participated in two myself, I found it reassuring just about everyone here acted responsibly unlike the "open-up" protesters of which, few wore face masks. Also in NYC, just before every protest, people were instructed to take precautions -- wear face masks, social distance as best as possible and even given hand sanitizer and gloves. Mass gatherings at bars and beaches and the refusal of those to take protective measures are the real concern. So far, even outside of NY, every surge is attributable to rushed and reckless re-openings.

also in Italy and in other European Countries there have been demonstrations of solidarity with the Black People and protests against the brutal policemen who killed black people. I hope a change will come soon....

I agree with Roger. My sister's 4 grandchildren are mixed race and I want them to grow up without their colour being an issue. There will be changes here, that's for sure.

An illuminating collage, but one that I cannot bear to read. All of this BLM stuff makes me completely crazy for a million reasons that I'm sure you can list yourself. Thank you for making a point though, it's very important!
