Thank you everyone. Politics aside, the beginning of every presidency is a breath of fresh air marked by renewed opportunity and hope. It doesn't matter who the leader is on day one. Only when reality sets in and decisions begin to be made does this hope begin to evaporate. :( Presidencies are a prisoner of the circumstances they are presented with. So at least on day one I do hope and would have had the same hope had Hillary Clinton been sworn in.

Yes we have to wait and see. However I don't think that his first to do list which included Trump
stripping the official web site of some of Obama's policies. and rolling back Obama Care.

Maybe I am wrong but in particular this above action by him smacks to me of trying to erase all trace of Obama's efforts to improve things in many areas.

From what I understand, every incoming administration changes the official website to reflect their policy agenda. With that said, I'm disappointed that climate change (a real concern) along with LGBT rights and the civil rights history section were removed. If anything I would expect him to support LGBT rights in the face of ISIS since they're an important step in protecting everyone's free right to individuality.

One day, though is insufficient to make a judgement. I thought Bill Clinton was a horrible president for his first 1 1/2 years and in the end he turned out to be a great president, in my opinion.

I cannot see any breath of fresh air. Frankly speaking, this is a catastrophe for the whole world and especially for the US. For the big US companies maybe, for the finance speculators, wall street, for the extreme rich, but not for the mass of people, not for peace, not for freedom, not for justice, not for the environment, not the future. I really cannot understand - even in my wildest treams - why any thinking human being can support this man and his scary crew. I'm very concerned about many comments here, I really feel a rising fear.

I'm curious what you want us to tell with this (technically good quality) photos. Do you think, this Ishaia words have any meaning for Trump? Whose interests will they represent in your opinion? Betsy DeVos is responsible for education with the main target to privatize the system - the death of a widespread education for all, which is a premise for a living democracy. The former wrestling specialist Linda McMahon and wife of a billionaire is responsible for mid tier business, no joke! You think Andrew F. Puzder will represent the interests of workers? Look at him and his record, for sure NO! Scott Pruitt for envirenment, who tells us, there is no men made climate change? Wilbur Ross for economy? A man, who earned his billions with equity fonds, investing in bancruptcy candidates in the financial crisis! You trust him? Steven Mnuchin for finance, ex-Goldman Sachs, this is disqualifying and guarantees the use of our tax money for bank bailouts. Rex Tillerson as former president of Exxon and close friend of little dictator Putin as foreign minister? And so on.....don't you see the reality? These are no alternative facts! This is real!

I understand your concerns but keep an open mind. Considering how well his meeting with the labor union heads went, I think it is encouraging. Sure I would have picked different people for some of the positions, but he's the President. If the economy improves, the shrinkage of the middle class is reversed, trade imbalances improve, realpolitik is eliminated to encourage peace and end this new cold war, ISIS is destroyed, and the current unaffordable healthcare system is replaced with one people can afford with reasonable deductibles and doctors' choice I'll consider it a successful year.
