PETER! wow this is such a lovely scene! I don't comment much on trains, but this shot is quite impressive as it rounds that curve in a snowy situation, the colors are great and the snow all around makes this a nice Train "post card"... good work here Peter. HAPPY NEW YEAR,
kind greetings, Sarah

Thank you so much Sarah!

I am so honoured that you have visited this winter scene and enjoyed it. We came to Germany looking for steam trains in the snow, and found some!! (Only thing missing was blue sky!)

Best wishes for the weekend and the new year

Very fine shot but ... I have to ask you ... what does Zing mean? It sounds like a very old Chinese Imperial Dynasty! This shot would appear to be taken somewhere in Europe!! ;o)
Best wishes,
Andy

Thank you Andy,

Please that you like the picture!
As for Xing, it is an abbreviation for 'crossing', used in the same way as Xmas. Some cities mark their tram crossings in this way, the big X clearly indicating the crossing of road and rail. In the case of Niederschlag, there is a sign with a big X on it, clearly visible in Füsun's photo, hyperlinked above.

Best wishes for the New Year!

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for your visit here, and the star! Perhaps not the best place for a picture, but we tried! Both the locomotives running on that line had Christmas trees on the front, the staff had really made an effort. (The other had candles too!)

Happy new year to you and Hazel too!

Hi Herb,

Thank you, and again wish you a happy New Year!
I am pleased that it meets with your liking, considering that it was a very dull grey day, and not the most colourful of subjects.. But we try!!

Best Wishes

You are the master of train photography. I can't even imagine how much effort you put on finding perfect locations, and be there on right time. Always enjoying to see your photos.

Hi Sami

Thank you so much! I am so pleased that you like the pictures.
I guess everybody has their specialities, and their knowledge of the subject they are photographing, There is of course a lot if study of maps, timetables, and other ipernity pictures, to be done beforehand!
