Sierra de La Cabrera

View from Cancho Gordo, to the Bustarviejo Valley and (from L to R) on the horizon, the rocky extravaganza of La Pedriza, Bola del Mondo and Peñalara, the highest peak in the Sierra de Guadarrama. The mountain goat shots posted a few weeks ago were taken just round the corner to the right but I couldn't quite get them in shot from these rocks.

Dedicated cycle lanes being built at the expense of parking for the residents. That's progress, I suppose. It means my girlfriend now can't park outside, but has to trawl the side streets for hours looking for a parking space. :o)
The VERY EASY path down to Fishing Cove.

It looks daunting from every angle except this one - which is what matters, when you are actually on it!

Salamanca from our hotel rooftop terrace. 3 important churches (or cathedrals or monasteries or convents and probably they all were or still are all of these at one time or another!) and the old university, Spain's oldest.
Madrid, Plaza Isobel II, very good buskers

About halfway between Porthcurno and Penberth cove. APOLOGIES! I SEE THAT I HAVE DOUBLE-POSTED THIS. I would delete this second one but there are two many nice comments for me to feel good about it so i will leave it as it is but remove it from all albums and groups!
HFF everyone!

Looking east from El Cancho Gordo. Mid distance the white rock of El Cancho de La Bola, home of Griffon vultures and at the end of the ridge, El Pico de La Miel.

There's no obvious way up to the top of this island but once you know it (I followed a family who explained they picnicked here once a year - on their annual holiday - and had done so since before the last war!), it's a doddle! You can see a mine shaft and an adit or two on the opposite cliff.

Porthcadjack, Cornwall.
Sight and Sound.
A Paul Tortellier masterclass in the original French.
Paul Tortellier: A musical genius no doubt but also the best proselytiser of classical musical I have ever heard. Sheer passion, allied to musicological insight, sound didactic methodology, rationality, humanity and humour.
