Well my sister came over from here (I live at her house!) the day before I returned in order to spell me and give me some relief. She can only do two weeks and my brother is hoping to follow her. In the meantime we are talking to a care company in order to fill in the gaps regarding my mum's needs and to look in on dad as well (even though he already has the max of 4 carer visits per day, he's got used to the luxury of 24/7 care via me). I have a raft of medical appointments here which will likely run into 3-4 months but I'm expecting to have to return to Cornwall after that. Yes it's compicated having elderly parents when one isn't 100% on a whole host of issues oneself!

I'm so happy to see that you've arrived back in Spain safely. I'm sorry to hear that your mum needs care, and your father has the limit of carers. I do hope the Social Services don't suggest you put him into a home, that's such a hard thing for your mum and dad to be separated at this time of their lives. Let's just hope things sort themselves out. I lost both my parents, and would give anything to have them around - so enjoy your time with them

I look forward to seeing pictures of your Spanish area. This picture of a gorgeous little pathway, full of bluebells is just fabulous. More please of your Spanish granite walks.

Kind words, Jenny, thank you. I hope to get back into the mountains soon but there may be problems along that path which I won't go into but I always had the ambition of returning after a 4 year gap and I will be mightily unhappy if, yet again, my plans are thwarted!

I am pleased to read you are back safe and sound but sorry to hear of your parents' ongoing issues. It is a very difficult time for you all.. I hope you have time for a little rest and recuperation of your own before you return to Cornwall

That's kind of you, Carol!
Tomorrow I start a whole raft of medical checks and also I get to see my girlfriend for the first time in over a year! Amazing really! She came to England (Salisbury) on a three month course and I couldn't travel then so didn't visit her. Then, as she was returning to Spain, I began my seven and a half months stay in Cornwall. Our paths crossed!! Then she had issues with her mother's health and so was stuck herself and couldn't visit me in Cornwall! C'est la vie.
