A famous rose garden.
Austerity measures in Spain meant drastic reductions in gardener numbers these past 8-9 years. Now becoming evident in the lack of weeding, dead-heading etc.

I only found out that he was an actor (d 1993), a few weeks ago. I had known the name of the rose but didn't know the origin!

How gorgeous this is Andy. The roses are beautiful and I can just imagine that the aroma in those rose gardens must be wonderfully intoxicating. For me the smell of proper old fashioned roses is pretty much unbeatable!

Gorgeous roses! I wonder why they are known as Daniel Gélin - I remember seing this French actor in a TV series in the 1960's.
