The prices are Ok for german standard..and the Pint was already 3,90 four years ago in
Ireland. However..I know..Guinness should not "travel" and it tastes not half as good as it
does in Ireland!

Irish stew to digest on pedals afterwards.

Stew ist ok...but don´t drink and drive Léopold ;)

I only drink coffee and drive but too much and too often and I regret it when I have to fond a quick spot to evacuate it since I am too young to dress with diapers.

Das war mir fast klar Lutz..und ich stell mit Erschrecken fest, dass man das mittlerweilen total entspannt sieht...mir graust´s ja fas´t! ;)

... besonders schrill fand ich ja Nudel'n, nicht's und e's. Spa'ß macht auch die's:

Den Ausdruck kannte ich noch nicht, Lutz, aber er passt. Inspektor Lewis vom "Oxford Krimi" regt sich auch immer darüber auf, ich aber auch....

Danke für diesen Link, Lutz! Ich freue mich jedes Mal, wenn von "stehendem Beifall" gesprochen wird. Vor einiger Zeit wollte ich das Schild "OPEN" eines Friseurs mit dem Schild "Geöffnet" überkleben. Mann hat mich leider daran gehindert ;-))) ...
Allerdings wundere ich mich hier in IP, dass manchmal Kommentare von Deutschen zu einem Foto eines Deutschen in englischer Sprache geschrieben werden.

was für eine Mischung, Cuba Libre mit Irish Stew für 12,30€ ...irgendwie dreht sich mein Magen gerade in alle erdenklichen Richtungen. Aber vielleicht ist mit dieser Kombination ein ausgeglichener Stuhlgang zu erreichen :-))))

Is the conversation of which Lutz is speaking to do with the use of the apostrophe? It appears everywhere in the English language too. The misuse of the apostrophe is called 'greengrocer's apostrophe', and folks get mixed up with things like 'who's' (who is) and whose. It's and its are often muddled up as well. It drives me mad. ;-)

In Germany we call it Deppenapostroph (idiot's apostrophe);-) Nobody seems to care about spelling these days. Even in the Grauniad's comment section plenty of people mix up there and their- grrrr....

Also Raucherkneipe muss nicht sein, aber einen Cider tät ich schon nehmen und Irish stew geht auch immer! Guiness mochte ich früher, inzwischen ist mir's etwas zu bitter.

Ich glaub das ist noch der alte Schmauch aus den letzten Jahren Gudrun..ist ja auch dort drin nicht mehr erlaubt aber dieser typische Geruch ist eben noch da ;)
Guinness..grad diese leichte Bitterkeit mag ich..und den Schaum, in den man Zeichen reinschreibt und die dann nach dem trinken noch auf dem Boden lesen kann ;))))

Das Fenster mit seinem angedeuteten Sturz ist allein schon ein Hingucker. Die Preistafel lässt uns vor dem Fenster einen Augenblick verweilen und zwingt mich bein Guinness auf jeden Fall zur Einkehr.
