A very small car, its purpose unknown to me. Siskiyou is the name of a mountain range and a county in northern California. Collier Logging Museum, Chiloquin, Oregon.

A bumble-bee painted safety plate over iron gears that are about waist level. Plenty of room to make a mistake and grind your arm off. This would never do now! Collier Logging Museum, Chiloquin, Oregon, USA.

This old man is in very bad shape. Possibly abandoned at a logging site for a long time, then brought to the museum. Collier Logging Museum, Oregon, USA.

Maybe an early skidder. Imagine operating this in deep mud! Collier Logging Museum, Oregon.

Summers school, abandoned
|
|
|
This was a school in the 1920s or 30s, then a new one was built closer to town. At the time, this would have been the "country school" for farm kids. Later it was used as school district offices and storage, but has been abandoned for many years. There are still a lot of maintenance and office supplies inside, moldering away. I suppose it will be torn down at some point, but I wish the owner (probably the county) would leave it alone or restore it. As everywhere else - no money for that.

Mind the gap

It was interesting to see how this corner was constructed, hollow, with several layers of bricks. There were no pipes or wires inside it, so would that be for added strength? It's a shame to see a nice old building like this crumble away, but there are so many like it...
