Medical transport

Medical transport
It's a big area, southeast Oregon. Nearly all of it is rural, so there sometimes needs to be air transport to our hospital from remote areas. People from northeastern California even use medical services in Klamath Falls.

Annemarie, ROL/Photo, Gisela Plewe, Reyk and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

And there was less that the doctor could do for them.

Yes! My grandmothers talked about some major diseases they simply "took bed rest" through. That was all!

And thank you for documenting this .. have seen Medical Transport (Life Flight) even here where time is extremely important. They usually head to UNC-Chapel Hill or Durham - Duke Med Ctr.
Over toward the mountains, they would usually go to Wake Forest Med Ctr.

I find it interesting that each of the medical centers are not only teaching hospitals but also different levels of Trauma Care.

There are way fewer top-notch resources where I live, but there is at least a large and "highly adequate" medical center in Klamath Falls. For people in outlying areas, it's a life-saver.
West and north of this county there is much more specialist care available, such as burn units or complex trauma.
