Believe it or not, this place is still in operation. Very small, only about six rooms, rented monthly.

Yep, I remember very well the serious feeling of doom. It was truly traumatizing. Not a feeling that a 12-year-old knows anything about! (Now, there is a daily, lower key trauma stretching over years. Absolutely exhausting.)

A fine commemoration of one of the beautiful signs we had back then. Those fonts have long been abandoned. I suspect "Holiday" is written in a unique style.

Ha! I'm a bit of a font nerd. Right now, the one I hate the most is the Google sans serif font that replaced their original, grown up serif one. It looks like kids designed it with crayons.

Definitely a comforting mirage in the reckless and enthusiastic drive through the States.
Never done such an exciting experience, unfortunately t!, albeit in my past travels in your fantastic, from multiple points of view , country,Diane.
And.. Now it's too late to impersonate Thelma/ Louise, absolutely without the tragic ending !!of course, in a mad rush through the USA!!!:-)
