Don't you love it when you mishandle your camera like a crazy person? I have begun to use my phone more as a camera. It's a low-grade smart phone. The problem is, the way I have to hold the phone is also the position that is most convenient for accidentally clicking off a shot. It's also a good way to accidentally flip it to selfie mode, so there are many hideous self-portraits to delete. (Sighhh) The most interesting is when it goes into "Blast" mode.

I am determined to stop using my phone as a camera unless I can afford a good one! Which I can't, so...I am trying to remember to put my mediocre real camera in my car more often.

Andy Rodker, John FitzGerald, Ronald Losure and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

And I'm getting to the point that I take most of my photos with the phone...

This is my camera. I bought it new years ago for $AUD89. The viewfinder is also essential for me. I also recommend it if you can get one second hand.

I really like the G12/G16 but it is a bit big in a pants pocket and a heap more money.

I take some photos with my phone, a Microsoft 640 LTE. It's not a brilliant camera but is always available.

Using my first digital camera, which was retrieved from a rubbish bin, I took many videos of walking feet. :-)

Haha - I, too, have a lot of walking feet! I made a collage of some, once, I think it's here somewhere. Thanks for another link, Graham, it's great to have some recommendations to narrow down the thousands of possibilities out there!

I remember my dad's first digital camera in the '90s. It was huge and took horrible photos. He kind of hated it (having always used Leica, Pentax, Nikon, etc.), but used it more as a toy. He was a real gadget guy. ;-)

They're just so darned handy. I don't remember to put my camera in the car, so there you are...
Still, if I'm going to continue this phone-camera thing, I really should have a better phone!

I find it almost impossible to use my phone as a camera, mainly because it just doesn't feel like a camera and the efforts to make it easy for the user mean I can't figure out how to use it. That's true for all phone cameras for me, when people ask me to take a photo of them with their phone, I try, but it just doesn't feel right.
