Kandinsky

Kandinsky
(See PiPs) Wassily Kandinsky's Der Blaue Reiter period (1911-1914), shown above and in the color PiP, is, in my opinion, his most sublime work. He is still considered a modern art giant, as much for his philosophy of art as for his paintings. Abrams Art Books, 1960.

I prefer when Kandinsky is a little more figurative , like in his canvas named " The blue rider" or in this : www.wikiart.org/en/wassily-kandinsky/couple-riding-1906

The one in your link is so very Russian, isn't it? This is even earlier: www.wikiart.org/en/wassily-kandinsky/blue-rider-1903
I must confess, I prefer his abstracts from 1911-1914. They really sing to me! ;-)

Funny you mention that, I admire it whenever I look at the book. It's gorgeous script! Thanks, Andy.
