1934 Chevy Sedan hot rod. I stayed four nights at the Curly Redwood Lodge, which I learned online has a minor cult following among fans of authentic "mid-century modern" motels. The name refers to the fact that the entire motel was built in the 1950s from one, enormous redwood log, called curly because of the wavy grain. That is a rarity.

That restaurant had the worst clam chowder I have ever eaten in my life. ;-o

I know what you mean, I had an ordinary Safeway salad that was delicious, because I ate it at the beach. I've eaten some mediocre clam chowder in my life, but his particular one was the consistency of wallpaper paste and way over-salted. The best I've ever had was made by...ME! Thanks, Smiley!
