The Trees of Mystery, family-owned. A small, low-key educational park based on the redwoods and the legend of Paul Bunyan. It's 70 years old and still thriving, thanks to all the kids who insist that Dad stop the car. I'll upload photos of their museum of native American artifacts soon.

And the horse and rider are the "Trail of Tears" sculpture form the forced march to "Indian Territory" now known as Oklahoma. Many native American died of starvation and exhaustion.

I stood on a redwood forest this week.. breathtaking .

You did? Where?!

Ah yes, and Andrew Jackson, the nasty president who perpetrated the Trail Of Tears, is an idol of the current nasty president. tinyurl.com/ybho9486 About the sculpture, "End of the Trail": tinyurl.com/ybfysa95 Unfortunately, the lovely original bronze has been reproduced so much and used in such trite ways that it's become a cliche.

There are Cherokees who won't use a $20 bill because Jackson's picture is on it.
