Winter logging with a Mack B-61. My dad, the woods foreman, took the picture. His older brother owned the logging company.

Doesn't it? I love it! I remember these very well, as I do the Cats and the Skagit log loader (if that's what it was called). Lots of specialized logging equipment like the Skagit was invented and manufactured in the Pacific Northwest. If I concentrate, I can still smell the wet dirt, pine needles, felled logs, diesel and engine grease of a logging operation. Those days, people brought their older kids to work with them without any worry about safety regulations (because there weren't many!). Since the logging company was owned first by my grandfather, then my uncle, we four were in the woods often in the summer.

Not until I moved back here did I discover my extreme fondness for the trucks, bulldozers and so on.
