Our robin takes notice before he drinks.

Our robin takes notice before he drinks.
Another shot in our garden to the bird bath within our dry-fountain. In practice, we have two robins here in the garden and I believe this one has a nest within the ivy, honysuckle and clematis trellis, shared with a blackbirds nest too.
Technically this is a 'European Robin' with the scientific name: Erithacus rubecula

Nice full screen

I love the shallow depth of field that makes the robin stand out from the background. Stay safe, Herb. All the best, Joe

Thanks Joe. The shallow d.o.f. all down to the long lens here. Even so, this was taken at f11 in order to have some depth of sharpness to it.

Keep safe Joe. Herb

Thanks Keith. Still new to me and the birds -well the statue and basin has been there for many years but it did not hold water for more than a few hours before I painted it with waterproofing tar stuff the other week. In these days of good dry weather, we see a lot of our birds coming in for water but normally it would be largely ignored. Yes, it makes a grand perch.

Herb you just paid for a new camera and lens in this one shot I know I would have a long lens and camera set up here with subjects like this. the bird is just perfect the eye as sharp as you want always the hardest thing to get but It would make sense to prefocus and tape lens as birds will be in same place. a very safe activity of photos at this time put the idea into your mind and add some food you have after two weeks a bonanza .
