The flood plains of the River Ribble

The flood plains of the River Ribble
For years now this lowland river area has flooded its banks after heavy rain but after this winter's rain here in Britain it has all gone to new high levels. Normally sheep and cattle graze these bottom fields. Thankfully there are no dwellings here. Over the last few years we have had droughts, fire and now floods. Already with us perhaps, is pestilence too. Things can only get better! - can't they?

Erhard Bernstein, tiabunna, , Andrea Riberti and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

This is a really well taken shot Herb.................but a bit depressing at the same time! Thankfully, as you say nobody lived there, but it will still take a long time before the fields recover and are ready for use again!

Good to see you back :-)

You must really slow down in your replies Dave -you are reading too many people in here :) Very happy to see you here all the same Kieth and as you say this reminder of our floods is not really what we need today. I shall try to put something a bit more jolly next time. These fields like so many other across our nation are changing -just the same as we humans must do.

Ha, ha................I'll put that down to a "senior moment". I seem to be having a lot of them lately :-)

I've now amended my comment and I'll try and remember your name next time..!!

Me too Toz. Your second home then is not too far away from all this. At least being on a hill, that place is relatively safe from floods, if not the virus.

Keep well. Herb

Moin,
Tolles Foto.

Thanks for this Weird. Maybe you are right -blame it on the politicians. Its to be hoped that all will be well again soon. My wife now has been threatened with a four months ban on leaving our house!!!

That water certainly has spread. It's interesting that you mention fire, floods and pestilence, I was just commenting a few days ago on that very thing. Stay safe, Herb.
