Thanks Amelia. An old one here that you may remember from my Panoramio days. I see like me, often, you did not enter the comp although you were good enough to vote. My thanks for that alone as I think it important that even if we don't enter, we still look on and have a voice.

Well observed Herb. The light on the bikes is really lovely and I like the symmetry!

Taken a while back now on a delightful one week coach trip. Milan was a real shock to us, as it had so much to offer a camera nut. We loved the big park, bang in the centre of town along with famous buildings like the LaScala opera house.(Teatro alla Scala). I must post more of that trip on here some day.

Ah, the good old days of Panoramio! . I never entered a competition, but am glad that you did!

I still miss those days Eva, when my friends counted in their many hundreds and each photo was lovingly inserted into the real world maps and scenes of Google Earth. I used to enter a few competitions there and fortunately our Ipernity SPC and CWP competitions are still exactly the same and ran by many of the same Panoramio members. You should try to enter some Eva. I know you would do well.

Well, we feel the same way. -
I am not interested in competitions anymore. I can´t travel anymore, so take very few new photos in relation to the Panoramio days.
I very often wonder why a photo got a 1st, or even 2nd price... I think I am too old fashioned phtographic wise...

I too understand your feeling about such things Eva. I am somewhat old fashioned too but I am lucky enough to still travel around and discover our wonderful world. Sharing the results on these sites keeps my hobby alive. ~ H

Yes, Herb, take advantage as much as you can, while you can... I really don´t complain. I´ve been around and now have time to scan all those slides, and even negatives. That could take years!

I love the sharing too... even the photos of long ago.

Ah, its a good job that I was truthful about the 2013 capture date of this then my friend. Very happy that you enjoyed it and did some research to find the exact date. This taken in September 2013 almost two years before the actual Expo. - Always good to advertise early!

A great composition, well deserving of its competition place, Herb. I was never in Panoramio, but I understand the feelings of loss of those formerly involved there - it was much the same with the Virtual Tourist site (killed by TripAdvi$or) where I was a member.

Thanks George. I had not heard of that Virtual Tourist site before this comment. I imagine now, that if Ipernity just stopped, we would both feel a great sense of loss too. Cheers fot the thoughts and praise here.
