Derryclare Lough, Connemara

Derryclare Lough, Connemara
A freshwater lake situated at the edge of the 12 Pins (12 Bens) of Connemara, County Galway. A wonderful scene, I believe when the reflections are perfect with snow on the tops but here we are in almost flat lighting but at least the sun is on the far mountains.

That was quick Nick. Yes a fine place indeed. I thought I really had a great shot here until I was looking up the name of the lake and then I could see just how beautiful it could look. Ah well, glad that you enjoyed it as it is.

Another one that's past your test Keith. A chance sighting of this, which afterwards I realised was one of the main photo-stops of these mountains. It looked even better 'live'.

It reminds me a lot of a farm with a lake, near Maam Cross. There I was allowed to stand on the lake with my camper. Willi and Marthy (the farmers) have drunk my last Guinnes reserves, but I gladly gave it to them :-) Great Picture, Herb... friendly, Lothar

There were a couple of camper-vans taking advantage of the parking place, I suspect they were drinking their Guinness too. For me, just a short time for me here, with many things still to see. Glad you enjoyed this ~ Herbert
