Pool fence

Pool fence
You wonder why I was missing this week for HFF. I was building a fence myself.

We had to take out this fence and a new base was put down over the whole ground that was 2 weeks ago. This Thursday and Friday all day was rebuild the whole lot. We had to contend with a very different sloping surface for drainage, bricks not plum, level or matching the one below and that inside the concrete was iron reinforcing mesh add to that this was 35c for the two days in this closed spot. Some 30 holes had to be drilled into the concrete we struck the reinforcing mesh in 10 of those hole.

It was our suggestion keep the glass fence dont buy a new fence we will put it up. the glass is very heavy and not at all safe to pick up with sweaty hand. Rest day last day of 2022.

Annemarie, Ecobird, Xata, Erika+Manfred and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

Crikey, that's a ton of work, Steve. You can be forgiven for missing HFF.
I hope all is well for you and that 2023 is better for all of us. One foot in front of the other; keep moving on.
Happy New Year to you and yours.

It certainly was but it was all planned out so each pane had same gap and the corner was square . We had to also up the bolt strength as we found a lot of bent bolts as we took down. Its done look's great but does need a clean to remove all the smeared sunscreen from the glass. Been a very quiet day today so will 2023 arrival we plan to be asleep. All the best for your Family as well and that we all have a better year than we have in the past few.

Its really quite amazing that you should help take all this work on Steve. Like any job, if you take your time and think carefully about it you stand a chance of getting it right -eventually. It seems quite a big fenced of area for such a small pool though, or is it an optical illusion perhaps? All in all, it looks like a job well done -Congratulations.

It only remains for me to wish you all a Very Happy New Year. Herb

Herb the planning, drawing and measuring all was done well before this. The other part was where to start was decided by in part where I knew the longitudinal Rods where from the early photos. there is more pool and more glass to the right but its not a huge pool by any means. the job came out as planned even if we had to make minor adjustments to fix up the poor bricklaying. we overcame more than one problem but in all happy to put my name on this. hope you New Year is going down very well.

Certainly not quite the job we expected but a lot of planning went into the job that the original fence line never had as never square and did not have consistent gaps. HFF all the very best for your 2023.

You did well, it seems mandatory everywhere now people have to fence pools... glass is the best looking, a fenced pool looks so inaesthetic most of the time, it is sad people cannot look after their children as before.

That was the main reason to get the fence back up for the holidays, yes a prime requirement with having a pool. HFF hope that your weekend is a good one.
