Preston Beach Milky Way- never give in
My first clear night in months sun goes down 7:36pm, Moon rises 9:17 pm, Milk Way is gone by 10:00pm below the horizon add to that 8 pm the Milky Way will start to show up as the sun light has left the sky. the city and surround was shrouded in smoke from burn off fires in the hill and in parts of the city bush. I was going to pull out but I thought if I never go I never know. to add to the problems when we got to the car park there was a huge light lighting the whole area as day light for all the late picnickers( tops of the dunes)cut out on the left side, to add to the problems all the 4WD fishermen came home at this time as it was reaching high tide from the right of photo all 12 of them and not at the same time.
This Milky Way Bow was shot not left to right but right to left as soon as all the cars got off the beach as fast as I could to get a clean set of shots. by this time this was the 5th Bow I had started and only one finished with out a stop.
This was a 100km trip each way which also benefited as we got out of the smoke which blotted out the Sun at sunset, this may be my last for the year. enjoy despite all the problems, only The third time my wife has seen the Milky Way.
